Mt. Cook & Mt. Tasman Reflected in Lake Matheson

All the New Zealand guidebooks have this scene. Except, of course, their photographers were there at dawn or sunset on gorgeous days. Unlike ourselves. On a clear, calm morning Lake Matheson mirrors the snow-capped alps creating an unforgettable image. We were there on an overcast afternoon, praying the clouds would lift long enough for us to do a helihike on the glacier. Ah well. It's a lovely hike around the lake, even on a gloomy day.
